  1. Yeah…😂i grow up eating luch in school but i preferred going home…when you r young you like pasta and pizza😂 but i had to sit and eat my vegetables and rice😅 some didn't like fish, others were from different religion that couldn't eat meat,so now parents apparently get a menu with different option you can chose for you kid. If the school for example doesn't provide halal food then parent can opt for fish or vegetarian menu.

  2. It all depends on the district you are living in, please don't be deceived. Parisian means the top notch arrondissement

  3. Michelle Obama tried to have American kids eating vegetables in school, her programme unfortunately failed and it failed because of the parents.

  4. School is nice nowadays. In my days you would never have got fried vegetables lol. I don't even think that's really a thing today either. Because until maybe 3rd grade kids are forced to finish their plates anyway.

  5. No, if you sign up your son for lunch and he doesn't show up that's a big problem for insurance and safety reasons. A kid supposed to be in school and not in school is a major security issue and they may face problems with the insurance which has to cover students in and out of school during their way home but in this case her son wasn't covered because he was supposed to be in school.

  6. Bonjour d'Occitanie (France)

  7. Great video, Biglez, yet not all school canteens are as gastronomic as the ones featured here!
That put apart, can you tell me why I find you so sweet and gentle? Your voice, maybe… Sorry!

  8. I'm french, the fact that when i was a kid we used to think that the food was sh'tty, well it was but at least it was food !

  9. In France the ministry of health puts ads on TV saying to eat 5 fruits and vegetables minimum per day. And avoid eating fatty, sweet and salty.

These same recommendations are also written in junk food ads. They are obliged to write it. And in a fast food they are forbidden to sell unlimited soda. A soda is maximum size of 50cl per meal.
In France, we ban many food products from the US because they are dangerous to health. Many pesticides, growth hormones, sugars such as corn syrup etc, are banned in France, this is not the case in the US, your food products are unfortunately dangerous for health.

And alcohol and cigarette ads are also banned in France. Besides whatever the brand of cigarette, all packages are black with written on it "smoking kills", and there are images of cancers on the packages.

That is why France is very well informed about health, food balance etc. And I think it should be the duty of all countries to inform their population of the risks of everything we consume.

  10. The voice-over says “….in public school in Paris”. But that's to be like this in EVERY school in France. (Bon appétit les amis).

  11. '' It's not because they don't have the right to vote that we should make fun of them.'' Full of common sense this gentleman 👍❤️

  12. I'm Latvian and in our schools you don't get French cuisine, of course, but I did grow up with proper meals at school. I first went to a school where you could sometimes have a small pizza and ice-cream as lunch. Ridiculous. Swapped schools in 3rd grade and was in the countryside. Our dinner ladies cooked everything from scratch, often using school's own apples, jams etc. because being in the countryside meant the school could have bushes with berries, trees with apples and plums on the land. All the meals were planned with nutrition in mind, the main lady would have a file ready for the week with all the meals, ingredients etc. If you ever wanted seconds, you could just go and ask (as long as there was any left). When old enough, we'd also do work in the kitchen. As a rotation we'd help first with cleaning the dining hall, then by placing cutlery etc on all the tables, then by cleaning mugs and dessert dishes. For that we'd also get extra dessert. 😀 The lunch ladies were great

  13. As a French girl, I discovered lunch boxes when I was an au pair in England. I felt sorry for the kids that I had to prepare sandwiches everyday

  14. Americans are so traumatised by the fact snails are a dish here that they see them everywhere.. what you saw in the video aren't snails, it is sea food called bigorneau (those are still gastropods but those are not what we call snails, the taste and texture are completely diferent).
The fact that even childs have such rich menus is because, except for suggar and salt, you need to teach your body to like new flavours by tasting (in general we say that you need to taste something 5 times in order to like it) and for your health as well.

  15. Bro just LMAO as a French i can ensure you the average food you find at school lunches in general (not every one ofc) is near to dog food bro honnestly (lowest quality possible), it's super processed food and that's all. Come in France and i can really show you what is called FOOD here in France.

  16. A 4 year old in a public school in france has better food than an american college student paying thousands of dollars in tuition…
