Australia is home to many things and luckily one of those things is Seafood! Today after a day of work, working remotely, I get to enjoy the day at @TheSydneyFishMarket . When the work day is done in North America, the afternoon is alive and well in Sydney!

The Sydney Fish Market, located in Pyrmont, is a vibrant hub of seafood and culinary delights. As one of the largest fish markets in the Southern Hemisphere, it offers a wide array of fresh seafood, including fish, crustaceans, and shellfish, sourced directly from Australian waters. Visitors can watch the live fish auction, enjoy a meal at the many onsite restaurants, or take a behind-the-scenes tour to learn about the market’s operations. The market also features a gourmet deli, bakery, fruit and vegetable stalls, and a selection of specialty stores, making it a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and tourists alike. Whether you’re looking to savor freshly prepared seafood or purchase ingredients for a home-cooked meal, the Sydney Fish Market provides an authentic and immersive culinary experience in the heart of Sydney.

I just couldn’t resist visiting many of the stalls… trying everything from impeccably granished and dressed oysters to the biggest fish and chips I’ve ever seen. and yet there is more! Meaty Lobster Mornay, Abalone, Scallops and yes, even nice tender fatty Wagyu beef sushi and the sweetest bbq King Crab legs you’ll ever see. Thank you for joining me on this seafood adventure and as the evening approaches, even more food! A tasting menu from Australia’s Masterchef!

[Music] [Music] good day everyone this is Tim and I hope you’re doing well uh really enjoying Australia and I’m just in the hotel room finishing off some work and when the business day is over in North America the day is just beginning or the afternoon is just beginning here in Sydney and uh really excited to explore uh Sydney and I got a chance to connect with the cousins and the aunts and uncles uh having a lot of great food and today I get to do a little bit of exploring on my own so thank you so much for joining I can’t wait to visit all the great sites and also a lot of the good food and I remember in Australia one of their biggest exports are cooking shows and there was a cooking show in particular called Master Chef where they featured a um a fellow called Reynold who does amazing desserts and he just has uh one of his uh Flagship stores here so I can’t wait to give it a try and it’s not only dessert it’s a a tasting menu as well so really excited for that but that’s later on tonight and I can’t wait to explore some of the other sites in Sydney and I heard they have a fish market as well with all the fresh seafood and I must say the seafood here in Australia is really Second To None very fresh very delicious and very affordable so I can’t wait to try all the fresh seafood from the oysters to its fellow Crustaceans to the fish and sashimi and sushi and maybe a lobster or two so uh and then also for a fantastic dinner as well so I hope you’re hungry uh without further Ado uh I think I’m going to pack up come on let’s [Music] [Applause] [Music] go after a quick ride on the subway and a transfer to Central Station going to the light rail Concourse where we hop on a much slower and enjoyable ride on the light rail and following the signs to the fish market we have arrived hey everyone so A beautiful day here and good it’s not too sunny and this is the fish market here and I can see some food stalls and behind me are the commercial Seafood suppliers to all the great restaurants uh including the sky Feast where we had those wonderful honey bugs so I I think I’m going to do some exploring look at some seafood but most importantly try to eat and taste the seafood uh come on o let’s go in here check it out it is wonderful to see a field of oysters already shucked and ready to eat and a scary looking fish there that you don’t want to meet in the uh dark alley and in the Mean Streets of Australia but I think in here this is where you find all the great eats and uh I think there is quite a few stalls to choose from the trouble is which one to choose let’s go inside and I think the trick is never stop at the first stall and order all the food I think we’ll do some grazing maybe we’ll ask for some advice and unfortunately he is of no help our first stall and we haven’t even gone in yet okay some magnificent looking oysters but these aren’t just any oysters these are oysters dressed to Perfection with a little bit of sea urchin and caviar and ikura that looks pretty good and not too bad so many other things to choose from if you like Lobster in a form of a sandwich beautiful lobster rolls and one of the problems when you’re the first restaurant is you want to see what else is next so let’s take a look here really cool here to see Chef cooking everything made to order little bit of a cafeteria spot and these are fish mongers and restauranter all combined into one this is a beautiful Market lots of uh fresh seafood as it should have and I can see all the hot food at the back right over there and couple of live stations as well with some specials and the king crab those are incredibly expensive but the lobsters look really nice this one is from cosmania the extend is from loal oh how much is this one that one is $150 a a little bit too rich for my blood and let’s see oh my goodness he the hot food station there and this is really the first stall inside the fish market and we’re already seeing all the great food here and moving on we have the Australian faar hi there fish and chips oh those look gorgeous and the lobster so definitely we going to go back for that and I don’t want to commit to one place and look at this Sushi and this is kind of hard to decide but maybe I can get some help here hey Alex how are you I’m fine how about you oh pleasure yeah I see you’re grilling up Alaskan king crab there not yeah it’s press it just cut it in half in the morning yeah after that like oh beautiful all right well there’s so many things in here uh what would you suggest to choose a little snacks here our over there we have the sushi and the Simi bar in the one line yeah uh we have it the fres s me that just fled in the morning yeah after that in the sushi we have theu of five me in the oh wagu in5 oh A5 wagu you know I think I’m going to do a little bit grazing here I’m going to give it a try can I order a king crab drill I think that’s okay I’m going to go to the sushi place and then check it out but I’ll come back and pick it up all right thank you very kind of Alex for all the recommendations and I think I’ll definely go for something small maybe a sushi or four and we’ll have to go through the line of the wonderful frustations here and these are Morton Bay bugs and it was so nice to have as many as you want at the buffet and looking at the price here that buffet was so worth it hey Santi how are you this looks great Alex there was suggesting you have a wonderful sushi with A5 wagu oh can I try a raw one please yeah can I try the salmon and I got to be careful cuz I this isn’t an all you can eat buffet isn’t it but they look so good can I try a scallop there’s so much to choose from Santi which one would you recommend okay so I got oh okay so let’s try the salmon Airi what would you suggest here I’ve never tried a king fish can I give it a try all right thank you all right so first item succeeded and I think our king crab is ready all right it is so nice to grab a seat and I am being very care because those guys not the little ones but the ones behind them are Fierce competitors with the food and uh I am guarding this very carefully cuz I was trying to find a seat out there and the seating wasn’t difficult to get but these guys are becoming a threat so I can’t wait to eat this very very quickly and uh I think I will need to but I’ll keep my eye on them and I’ll keep the other eye on the wonderful Sushi as recommended by Alex and Santi and the king crab I don’t think I’ve been this stressed with having a meal with uh people or the Birds competing but let’s give the king crab a try so this is really cool uh Alex and team are grilling this up so I better have this while it is hot and of course ping crab is nice very easy to eat oh look at this little bit of carage and it just comes right off oh will to Perfection nice and sweet and Meaty morels of tender meat sweet and Briny like the ocean as they say very good as good as a king crab is I got to try the sushi and all the meanwhile a little bit concerned so one eye on the food and one eye on the birds let’s give it a cry so Alex was recommending the A5 uh wagu with oi and then I think this is an A5 wagu with oi as well but TCH so let’s try the raw first all right beautiful looking Sushi all right let’s give this a try that was a one biter a little bit messy wagu nice and soft and tender and a little bit of the oi on top Mak it really good and looking at the torch Sushi it is exactly the same except cook with more of the iara or the too this is going to be so easy to finish got a finish in one bite so far so good we’ve had the turf now let’s go for the surf in the form of salmon and this has got to be one of the most beautiful looking salmon I’ve seen and maybe to contrast the colors a little bit of the Wasabi and a little bit of the soy just a few drops I can’t wait to give it a try quickly because this guy is coming around I’m definitely looking for a place with indoor seating all right cheers okay this very tasty light and sweet and delicate little bit of pop some of the iara and a little bit of rice on the foundation very good and I’ve never tried a kingfish before so I I can’t wait to give it a try and if I look distracted because that’s because I am those guys are circling but let’s give the king fish a try all right right at the very end and I think we will get a little bit of the Wasabi and a few drops of soy not too much all right perfectly dressed let’s give it a try first time trying cake fish and this will certainly not be my last very nice and meaty and fresh no I’m going to finish this up really quickly and also keep an eye out on the competitors and I’ll take you back for some more Good Eats especially the fried food but next time we’ll go inside not for you I’ve never been so stressed eating a meal before so very delicious what a nice start king crab absolutely succulent and taking a bite you got to watch out for those who are watching you and that salmon a Brey absolutely delicious so I think I’m going to try some uh other saws and again inside and we see Alex hard at work Alex thank you so so much and I think others are following the same suggestion and I would highly recommend it and let’s see going in a little further a little bit of Japanese fair and let’s see oh I think this is a second or third or fourth stall in here oh and I see some takoyaki oh it’s mesmerizing to watch thank you so much thank you so again a lot of fresh seafood but I don’t think the hotel is going to be very kind if I brought some there but look at this those have got to be the best looking fish and chips I’ve seen and the only thing better than a fishing chips is a whole plate full or two platefuls and I think that’s going to be full but we’ve got some Lobster morning there so this is looking pretty amazing here all right so everything looks so good here I don’t think I can resist and they have platters but the platters are for four or two or one but I think I’m just going to select a few hi Santi how are you not too bad can I can I order a few things all right um let’s see can I try the lobster morning oh thank you so much let’s get a bigger plate thank you okay so we got the lobster scallop okay can I try one and this looks so good all right so I’m going to skip the oysters cuz I’m watching my weight some more Lobster oh my goodness that fish and chips look amazing what is it oh can I go for one you oh well you’re very kind thank you but let’s see what else they have oh oh this is a oh this is beautiful scallop can I go for one so it’s kind of silly and now this is already way too much but um I think Australia is kind of known for their Abalone can I try one oh beautiful oh thank you all right this is Santi number two and they really know how to they know how to sell oh thank you all right so this box is incredibly heavy and uh I think uh Santi was teasing and uh uh enticing with all the nice items here let’s open it up and take a look this is like Christmas and look at that massive fish and chips at least a massive fish for sure and uh I think she gave a really big piece here and beautiful fries underneath and the lobster mouret the Abalone oyster or in the form of a scallop and I’m losing cack of what I’m saying but it’s so nice to be eating inside where it’s nice and greasy and air conditioned and the wildlife is out there but I think I need a little bit of a drink FK zero to the rescue ah oh very nice and with that it’s hard to figure out which one to choose so I think we need need to dig in to the Lobster first it’s a tough call between the lobster and the fish but I think the lobster can’t wait and I think this is trying to figure out what is Australian Fair aside from the meat and I think a second runner up for a title of Australian fair is lobster mour so I think oh look at that I’m not sure if you can see but uh all the wonderful juices and I think a mouret sauce is a creamy cheese sauce and a wooden knife is so hard to cut into but a little bit of patience and I think it is coming out just right oh and the gooey cheese thanks let’s give this a try okay it looks really good and it is busy in here cheers okay so the Australian spiny lock incredibly meaty very mild and the wonderful baked cheese sauce of mouret beautiful and the perfect way to balance out the mouret sauce is a little bit of coke good very refreshing and I think we need to dig in to the fish and chips next but before the fish we’ll give the chips a try a little bit of tarar sauce nice crispy french fries a beautiful start but now let’s cut into the fish okay and this is a massive fish this is about $14 for all that fish and chips and okay nice and Flaky and I think we will have to foro the manners because the knife and fork at least a wooden knife and fork just isn’t cutting it unintended and I think we’ll just need to use our hands a little bit of fish little bit of sauce very light and delicate crispy coating and a flaky meaty fish very tender very good just a little bit more cheers I got to try that scallop because for about three or4 I believe it is one of the biggest scallops I’ve seen and with scallops being as tender as they are I think the wooden knife would do the trick all right and you know the reason the knife is doing a fantastic job is because you don’t even need a knife it just falls off nice garlic and butter and onions and peppers when you’re here go for the lobster mouret and definitely go for the scallop just so tender and flavorful I could eat a dozen of those and I can’t except it’s not a buffet so you got to watch the cost and Akin to a scallop this is an abalone and I think again in Australia abalon or abalon are quite abundant so that would be fun to try and unfortunately with the abalon it’s a little bit tough it’s clearing up the knife and fork let’s give this a try this might be a tall order for a wooden knife and fork and I think it is abalones are kind of tough in general but a little bit of patience and actually it is cutting out easily a little bit of sauce so normally I’m not a big fan of the texture of abalon but this has got to be the most tender Abalone I’ve ever tried and uh flavor is amazing and even this texture is phenomenal and that sauce adds an extra nice tick to it oh very nice so we have mouret number one in the form of lobster and mouret number two in the form of a wonderful scallop okay with a bit of stragglers in the form of fries and I believe the only thing better than a French fry is a french fry with mouret sauce let’s see there we go if Australia has a dish called French friy mouret that would beat out the Canadian coutin but let’s give the scallop a try okay and this is wonderful all that luscious mouret sauce and on second thought that might not be too good a thing because I’m still looking for the scallop and there is a lot of mouret I think they forgot the scallop oh no no hang on I feel something here way down here there is a scallop a little bit small but that’s okay with all the mouret sauce we can try it with the prize but here’s for a good scallop very tender but if you’re here go for that buttery garlicy and the oniony scallop very good so I’m going to try a little bit more of the fries which is my one weakness in the mouret sauce and here’s to a great snack and while we’re eating here I can see people ordering the fresh Asian lobsters and I wish I could have ordered that but with a dinner at poy or Reynolds dessert place later I don’t think I can manage to finish that at least by myself so I’m going to finish this and uh we’ll take your backs and go for a little bit more exploring and then uh hopefully we’ll work up an appetite for dinner this evening at one of the I guess fanciest or prettiest place can’t wait to give it a try I’ll take you [Music] back very nice so that took a while to finish and that was a lot of food the fries and the mouret sauce are my weakness but that Lobster it may not have shown but when you go digging in there is a substantial amount of lobster meat very tasty very meaty and tender and now I think um think I’m ready to go and uh dinner is a bit later today but uh I think uh coming in here this is the first place that we passed along the boat shed and I remember those magnificent oysters all dressed to Perfection and I think I just have a little bit of room for a little bit of oyers and maybe a glass of wine oh look at this s lober oh my goodness look at this look at oh big one down there a spiny looking guy he thank you oh so $20 a kilo 28 two to 68 okay 268 yes oh my God goodness go not bad all right so as full as I am I coming in here I saw those lovely oysters and I think I got to give it a try Loki thank you so much for that great Seafood um can I maybe get a glass of wine and uh some oysters thank you than oh perfect all right thank you so nice to grab a table and I know we had a quite a bit of food but uh not uh haven’t had any oysters and I remember coming in here through that entrance I saw they had the oysters all dressed up and I think since they are small I think I’m going to give it a try let’s check out the menu first right and let’s see we’ll certainly skip the breakfast and they have so many items to choose from here so I think I’m just going to go for those oysters and uh maybe a nice drink hi till how are you oh beautiful it’s a beautiful day here had a lot of food but I saw you had some beautiful oysters outside um can I order one yes all right and maybe a housewife thank you so much what cocktail would you recommend this one I give you something spicy I think you like spicy cocktails I give you the new cocktail that we do all right thank you Loki so really kind of chill there so I got the oysters and I think Loki is suggesting a cocktail so I can’t wait to see what it is and I’ll take you back when it comes but now we are outside without the competition of the birds and it is much more relaxing here and I’ll leave you with the view all right that is just so pretty too pretty to eat in fact but let’s go for the wine first they do heavy pores and certainly no complaints here oh that is a nice refreshing buttery chardonay and unfortunately too easy to drink but I think we need to go for one of those oysters before they get warm all right let’s give these a try and look at this black tuxedo with an uni and I think this is a little bit of ikra and a little bit of dressing oh let’s give this a try M that refreshing Briny and sweet and the smaller the oysters they are the sweeter they are and that oi and the pop of the ikra and the caviar that is so nice and this is absolutely balanced not only with flavors but the colors as well a little bit of veggies just for decoration and uh beautiful oyster here number two is just as good as the first cheers and here comes Loki again thank you so much it’s a little bit spicy but it’s nice so this is a spicy passion fruit margarita with jalapenos and as refreshing as the wine is I think this would give it a bit more kick to a wonderful afternoon snack oh oh that is spicy SP Y and hot but spicy and hot in a wonderful way rounded with a passion fruit beautiful Margarita and so addicting as well and this is a wonderful contrast a nice substantial cocktail full of flavor and a nice refreshing glass of wine I think we have a wonderful prom at hand let’s go for a bit of the refresher and another oyster with that wonderful dressing what a nice way to enjoy the Sydney Fish Market lots of food with the oysters here and the lobster and that ginormous fish from uh the great folks there and uh Santi number one and Santi number two fantastic folks here cheers last little bit of ikra and before finishing off and uh heading off we kind of curious whether the jalapenos in the cocktail are for decoration or actually for flavor let’s give it a [Music] try they are definitely there for decoration this isn’t helping because this is rim with chili flakes and the alcohol doesn’t cut the heat but hopefully the wine might help much better and still a little heat and uh with the alcohol I think it exacerbates it but it’s always fun to have a little bit of danger when it comes to eating and those jalapenos were certainly dangerous so I’m going to finish this off and enjoy this afternoon and later on I can’t wait to try I think one of Sydney’s uh uh most interesting dinner courses with rainold from Master Chef and uh the dessert and also the menu so uh I think I’ll just finish us off go for a walk and uh I think I may need a bit of a change because I don’t a Coca-Cola shirt would cut it and I’ll take you back uh for dinner later tonight and the heat is subsiding a beautiful day at the Sydney fish market and catch the next video as I explore into the evening getting to visit the Asian eateries and also experiencing a tasting menu from a Master Chef creation rolds at koi so thank you so much much for joining and until we see each other again I hope you’re keeping well and I hope you’re eating well God bless to you and yours bye-bye for now

  1. Tim…what’s the story behind the Cocoa Cola Tee Shirts🤷🏽‍♀️I love Coke…I may need a couple of the tees for myself.

Thanks for sharing these absolutely fabulous meals with us.
    🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

  2. Glad to see you enjoying Sydney. Those big birds are scavengers called "Ibis" they won't come too close to you but they're there to scavage, it's the Seagulls that you need to watch out especially if you're eating Chips-they love it, they do hover over you sometimes to steal your chips.😅
Tim, you should drink more Red wines here in downunder as Australian wine are cheap n tasty, one of the best wines in the world i would say. Pyrmont has changed so much with lots of food court menus offering. Years back, it's only a Seafood/Fishmarket n maybe only 1 or 2 stalls like Peters making fish n chips. Great to see u enjoying Ozzieland.😊

  3. Why would you eat the chili pepper on purpose? Perplexing indeed. Some ice water would be welcome I'm sure.

  4. Wow a food searching bring your channel to me! Have a great trip Tim, maybe we could gather sometimes in Vancouver when you are back!

  5. L❤VED this episode/upload (whatever its called 😂) it was fascinating to see the stalls and i reckon you chose really well! 😊

  6. P.s TIM! as a brit i feel honour bound to tell you off for not adding lots of salt and malt vinegar to your fish and chips!!! 😂😂

  7. I absolutely love all of your videos and that you take me traveling to other countries. Today I would have had the fish and chips, the Coke Zero and the Chardonnay!! Cheers!!

  8. While the food looks very good, but the prices are definitely tourist trap pricing.

  9. The fish market looks tremendous. I think you got a decent selection to try. Looking forward to the tasting menu in the next video.

  10. That's the best Fish Market I've seen in my life. The fish and chips for 14 bucks?? That's a hell of a deal for the size of that fish!
My gosh, watching this was almost torturous.

  11. If you’re promoting Australian seafood, why would you order the Alaskan king crab legs which are imported frozen from Russia???

  12. Man, the food at the Sydney Fish Market is incredibly fresh and everything is really clean. But you do gotta watch out for those dirty ol' bin chickens/tip turkeys (White Ibis)….scavengers like the seagulls but 3 times as big😳

  13. those birds are called ibis, also have a nick name of " bin chicken:" ahahah you probably could guess why aussie call them bin chicken

  14. WHY would you have frozen Alaskan king crab when you can have Aussie crab. Ok Mud crab expensive – but not Blue Swimmer crab!!!!

  15. I RAN INTO UR VIDEOS BY ACCIDENT AND IM SUPER GLAD I DID ..LOVE UR VIDEOS ,THANK U BROTHA …U HAVE A NEW FOLLOWER 💯🙌

  16. One of the best places for seafood! Not much of a crab person myself but that meaty king crab leg looked fab.

  17. I'm really not trying to be mean but is he special needs? His movements and actions can be so weird and bizarre.

  18. how does someone become as pathetic as this guy.. I go to the fish markets all the time and the ibis don't take food off anyone you need to watch the seagulls they will take it out of your hands

  19. Ummmm… okay, I know I'm enjoying some wine, but a bird flew past you in the indoor seating area. I just went back and re-watched for a moment. Now I know I'm not losing it! Enjoy!
