this time we’re learning how to cue unnecessary drone shot Brew the perfect French Press also known as cafer coffee this one is a classic it’s simple it’s quick to do and it doesn’t involve any bits and Bobs that you use once and then throw away so what do we need to brew this French Delight well it’s kind of in the name French press or cafer a couple vessel some freshly boiled water and some delicious coffee so firstly you’re going to want to make sure you boil enough water for your French press or cafer of choice mine’s quite petite then you want to get the ratio of water and coffee just right now I’m going to get a little bit coffee geeky with you but don’t lose hope it won’t last long what we’re trying to aim for here is a 1 to2 ratio of coffee to water now a gram is the same as a milliliter so 1 g equals 1 ml so 1 cup 240 ML of water 240 G which means you’re going to want to add 20 G of ground coffeee that is about 2 and 1/2 heaped tablespoons 1 2 and a half or if you’re a harer person one of these bad boy Scoops it’s going to be two of these I was putting in the cup for illustrative purposes we’re going to put it inside the French Press so what’s next coity or the ground of your coffee is really important for french press as with every other Brewing technique it wants to be slightly coarser than you would be using for aerrow press or filter and the consistency that we’re looking for is a bit like coarse brown sugar so we’re going to go ahead and add 2 and 1 half heaped tablespoons of our ground coffee next up we’re going to add our freshly boiled water now you want to let the water cool for a couple of minutes before pouring cuz we don’t want to Scorch the beans with just boiled water so what we’re going to do is to start we’re just going to cover the grounds nothing more just the gr and then we’re going to stir it with a wooden or a bamboo spoon now why a wooden spoon John you might ask is it cuz you’re in a wood no it’s cuz metal May chip or crack the glass French Press you don’t want to ruin your nice French Press we have to leave that for 30 seconds and what happens after 30 seconds more water of course now we’re going to fill it up to the 240 ML approximately one Mug’s worth say about there and then we’re going to put on the top and stop are you crazy you need to wait for that to brew I knew that we’re going to leave this now for 4 minutes yeah 4 minutes now I know a YouTuber like you is you know looking for entertainment within a hot second a hot minute but some things are worth waiting for so there’s no need to go scrubbing on the bottom I’ll fast forward for you 4 minutes now what we’re going to do is plunge the top just make sure first that you’ve got it lined up properly so that when we come to pour the nib is in the right place we’re going to push down gently ever so gently so we don’t want those coffee grounds to get into our cup until we’re down at the bottom simples next Grab Your Vessel pour your cup and there you have it French press cafer coffee simple elegant and also fresh Bona te can you say Bona te for drinks or is it just food should we just consider it a plug for another excellent YouTube channel Bona [Music] te thank you for taking the time to hang out with me and learn a bit more about coffee brewing at here in the lovely Woods uh don’t forget to give us a like if you’ve enjoyed the video and subscribe below to join us for some more coffee Adventure is [Music]
