here’s how to make espresso if you don’t
like automation coffee technology has
gotten so crazy lately that there’s
machines that do literally everything
for you so I get it sometimes it’s nice
to take a step back and do everything by
hand once in a while the biggest issue
we run into when doing this with
espresso is preheating since a machine
isn’t doing it for you we have to make
sure that we adequately preheat our Brew
chamber I’m doing that here by resting
it in a silicone funnel on top of the
hot water kettle we’ll use a hand
grinder to grind the coffee which is
much more difficult because you have to
do about 2 minutes of hard cranking to
get down to that fine grind size for
espresso to remove Automation in the
Brewing process here I’m using a fully
manual espresso maker this allows you to
have really precise control of the
amount of pressure that’s applied
throughout your shot and it requires a
little bit of muscle and body weight to
use we’ll fill the Brew chamber up with
water that’s fresh off boil from our
Kettle throw the pressure gauge on and
then we can pull our shot I will say
there is a certain amount of
satisfaction that comes from doing this
all by hand without automation but I
also like tools and machines that make
the process easier or even do most of
the work for you

  1. Nice. Can you make a second espresso for your guest real quick or will that be another 5 minutes of tea ceremony lite?

  2. I hope that lever coffee maker have some fixed connection to the table, i mean, too much force at wrong angle and… although nothing wakes you up better that some boiling water spilled on your junk lol

  3. I have a cheap steel frenchpress I love coffee, but once I bought a 16-dollar espresso, not only was it small, it tasted awful.

  4. I do enjoy the analogue components of coffee and espresso making. I mainly am sticking to coffee with a hand crank grinder and pourover, aeropress, or siphon brewing. In the end, its for the love of it.

  5. Coffee snobs are so funny. They're even snobbish about each others kind of snobbery. I'll stick with my instant coffee that tastes exactly the same though, thanks.

  6. Oh quit being lazy and make coffee the classic way you dont need to waste 5000 dollars on automated machines to make coffee juat do it the classic way not the lazy way

  7. In my 2012 jura, you press the button and then there is an espresso in your cup. Automation my foot, super automatic espresso machines exist.

  8. И это все только ради того, чтобы потом жестко обдристаться?

  9. Hey sir I was hoping that you can do a full tutorial of how to make this kind of coffee (without automation) and also please includes links or at least names of all the used tools in the video, thanks

  10. List of equipment used ? I’m thinking for getting the flair just don’t know which model pro or not. Safe money and get other needed accessories ect ?

  11. This is the one art that most people don't know about, yet the few who do practice it are both Picasso and the biggest needs I've ever seen, and you know what I'm here for it how do I start.

  12. A few notes I'll lay down here:
If you don't have a funnel like in the short, you can alternatively use a dripper like for v60 or april to hold your components as it heats up.
If your grinder takes 2 minutes to grind espresso, ima have to ask you to stop right there. Your grinder was not made with espresso in mind if it takes that long- a proper espresso-esque hand-grinder should only take 30-15 seconds like with most 1zpresso handgrinders.
As for brewing, I recommend pre-infusion at 1-3 bars until fast dripping, and crank it up to 6-9 bars at around 1:2 ratio. Pre-infusion helps to loosen up the solubles in the coffee, and the final squeeze is to push those solubles out of the coffee, essentially making the taste profile more balanced, delicate, and sweet.

  13. Been making cold brew for 8 years now with just nutmilk bags, a 3 gallon glass container, and about 15 ounces of coffee. Leave it in the fridge and got coffee the whole week. Im too old to learn /try anything new
