in less than 10 minutes you will be able
to taste wines like Robert Parker the
most renowned wine critic in the world
so that you can leverage your
relationships and career by speaking the
same language with win snobs my name is
gar I’m a WC3 qualified Sam let’s go
Robert paraka has created the most
universal wine evaluating system which
is accepted basically by any sell in any
restaurant in the world the wineries
tried to make wines the Parker style so
that they got 100 points which is
considered to be the best Mark period
but in order to understand the wine ring
method created by Robert bucker it’s
necessary to know just a little bit
about his life story Robert Paka was
born in 1947 2 years after the end of
the World War II in the United States
after finishing school Paka started
studying history and art history at the
University he didn’t enjoy this career
much and decided to become a lawyer
studying law at another University One
Summer during his holidays he wanted to
go to Europe he headed to France but
like many students at his age didn’t
have much money he was 21 years old and
had just a couple of dollars in his
pocket he couldn’t even afford a cup of
coffee or a can of Coke in a restaurant
as they were too expensive for him but
in France even today and also in that
time you could find a glass of wine
which is cheaper than a cup of coffee
Paka decided to take advantage of this
remarkable opportunity and began his
journey into the world of wine starting
with the moment most basic French wines
Upon returning to the US Robert
continued his studies at the University
he wanted to connect his life with wine
but didn’t know how to do it yet after
graduating Parker had the idea to start
his own wine newspaper but couldn’t do
it for financial reasons he just had no
money he had to work to make an meet so
he worked as a lawyer for almost 10
years without forgetting his dream of
becoming a samale and tying his life
with wine first he began writing
articles in newspapers about wines and
only in
1978 he launched his Independent
Newspaper he called this newspaper wine
Advocate recalling his previous
profession he wrote notes about
different wines in wine Advocate and the
newspaper began to attract more and more
readers over the years the newspaper
gained a larger audience and five years
later Robert decided to quit working as
a lawyer and dedicate himself entirely
to wine research during those same years
Baka invented his peculiar tasting
method that was very Innovative at the
time Robert proposed evaluating wines on
a point scale where 50 points is the
lowest possible score and 100 points is
the highest yes by Parker’s tasting
method the worst possible wine would
have 50 points but the rest of the
points gain for their properties and
characteristics of the wine does it make
any sense that wines get 50 points
basically for nothing for just
existing I don’t know it’s the essence
of the Parker method and no one argues
this approach today but in essence it’s
a bit specific the color and appearance
add a maximum of five points to the wine
these are the easiest points to acquire
as by this Criterion most wines score
four or five points then we continue
with the nose of the wine the Aromas and
the bouquet here the best rating is 15
points but few Wines in the World
deserve this evaluation from Parker then
we taste the wine we evaluate the palet
of the wine the flavors and complexity
of them along with the Finish which can
be long or short we have a maximum of 20
points here and we conclude the
evaluation by saying a few words about
the quality level and potential for
Raging in the future for this wine a
maximum of 10 points in this category
depending on the total sum of points the
final rating is given to the wine from
50 to 59 points rate and acceptable wine
it probably can be made with defects and
sometimes it is not safe to drink there
are not a lot of these Wines in the
world just because most of these wines
normally are not evaluated by Parker’s
team yes now Rober pet doesn’t evaluate
all the wines all by himself because
there are thousands of wines to T it’s
just not possible to do it on his own
there is a team of people professional
salies who help him tasting and
evaluating the wines so when they say
the wine scored 95 points at wine
Advocate it doesn’t necessarily mean
that Rober Parker tasted this wine
himself and then from 60 to 69 points
are given to just bad wines unbalanced
by aity T or some other components but
at least these wines are safe for the
consumer from 70 to 79 points it’s
rating of a medium quality wine that you
can find basically in any Supermarket
for like around €10 or US Dollars it’s
like a medium quality Supermarket wine
nothing special but already it is
completely safe to drink wines that have
80 to 89 points are a bit above
acceptable wines and often represent a
good value for money they already have
more quality than average wines but
still they don’t cost a fortune and now
the tip of the iceberg wines with 90 to
95 points really surpass all other
groups except one in terms of character
quality and complexity this does not
mean that wies in this category must
cost an arm and a leg it is possible to
find a wine that has 90 points for the
price of about
3040 or US Dollars only few Wines in the
world deserve rating from 96 to 100
points these are exceptional wines that
can cost hundreds or even thousands of
Euros or dollars but Frankly Speaking
they represent more value not for Wild
Love but for collectors wine investors
or people with very high incomes but
sometimes it is also possible to find
like a 96 Point wines at very affordable
price like $3 to $50 per bottle but they
may cost several hundred per bottle as
well yeah that is another tricky thing
about wine wines are rated the same but
cost 10 times more to me it still sounds
a bit insane but yeah it is the beauty
of the world of wine okay fine by how
can I rate a wine by Paca method how can
I know that this wine has 75 or 85
points right now we are going to taste a
wine I have some wine here left from the
dinner and now let’s rate it according
to the Parker’s method I bought this
bottle of wine just in a supermarket
which already tells us a lot that it’s
not going to be a 95 plus points but who
knows let’s see I’ll just pour myself a
little bit of this one wine and we’ll
start the
tasting remember that this wine already
has 50 default basic points and to which
we will add more points during the
tasting first we have the appearance the
look of the wine as the SM say I talk
more in detail on wine tasting and
production in my online course wine
appreciation the basics I’m working hard
on this right now and probably by the
time I publish this video it should be
ready like check the links in the
description down below it should be
somewhere there and back to the
appearance of this wine it has no
suspended particles it is not cloudy
it’s not hazy the color I would not say
that the color is very profound I’d say
that for red
wines this wine is rather pale but still
I give Five Points to this wine because
there are no visual defect and the wine
looks okay to me and then we continue
with the nose as you remember but the
maximum score here is 15 points way more
than in appearance
well it’s not a simple wine it has some
layers to it it has some black fruit
Bramble like some some Black Plum
probably but definitely it’s more on the
black side there is nothing like
raspberry or strawberry here it’s
definitely not a p Noir it’s monal
actually and also there are tons of Oak
here I’d say that the oak is rather new
and toast there is really a lot of O
here I can smell basically no tertiary
Aromas almost no fruits development so
all the fruits are rather young so I
assume that this wine was just made and
spent some time in Oak and then it was
released to sale I’d say that this wine
is like 10 out of 15 points on the nose
it’s not completely dull but lacks some
finess to it it’s very like
straightforward but let’s see what it it
has on the
palette actually I don’t like this one
very much on the palette I think it’s
actually a bit worse than on the nose to
me it’s not a good sign on the nose it
was just a bit harsh but at least it had
some complexity to it some fruit some
secondary Aromas but on the palette it’s
all tenants like and ripe tannant which
is not very pleasant lots of Oak
probably to mask the best quality fruit
used to make this wine the finish of
this wine is quite long but rather
unpleasant I’d say with this oky overly
toast TI almost too heavy for me even
with some bitterness to it out of 20
points out of 20 possible points I think
it gets like nine points it’s not very
balanced to me to me there is a clear
imbalance to the Okie side which makes
this wine too heavy than it should be
and a little bit bitter on the palette
that’s why I marked this wine 9 out of
20 points and now uh we just make a
conclusion about the quality of this
wine and potential for evolution
potential for Raging of this wine I
think it is an average Supermarket wine
made from average quality grapes there
is nothing that really exceeds my
expectations and the average level of
quality it doesn’t have much potential
because it is not quite balanced and I
don’t believe it will improve over the
years so I put just just five points out
of 10 possible for this Criterion all in
all we have 50 basic points plus five
points for the appearance 10 points for
the nose nine points for the mouth and
five for the quality level this wine
has
79 points yeah 79 points so it is the
category of average quality wines and it
is actually an average wine it is not
quite balanced to me and at the same
time it has at least some Aromas and
flavors probably some people would even
like its harshness it’s like seems very
much like this picture here on the front
label probably with some meaty grassy
type of food it will be okay I think
it’s totally safe to drink but really
this wine does not go beyond the average
quality level it is fine for its price
like €10 it’s okay but I doubt that I
would like to pay more for this bottle
of wine and check out the video
description for more wine experience is
with me and see you in the next video
bye
