PRESENTATION/DISCLAIMER :
This year’s edition of WHISKY LIVE PARIS being even bigger than last year’s one (15000 m2, 1500 bottles, over 200 brands, including over 120 whisky brands, 38 rum ones, 13 Cognac ones, 7 Armagnac ones, 25 Gin ones, plus other spirits in & out of the « Cocktail Street » zone…), all this to discover in 3 days ! And for the first time, there will be no less than 22 stands showcasing 60 different French whiskies, mind you (as there is a whisky boom here-I will speak more about it soon, btw, in a special video in English about French whiskies, but you’ll have an idea about it already here).
For me this year, with my health not being at best & the choice to attend it 2/3 days, & to avoid as much as possible both rums, gins, other spirits & the Cocktail Street stands (with 3 exceptions regarding other spirits), given that the venue was even more tiring to visit this year, it was as overwhelming as exciting, and this report, again, like last year’s one, can’t be obviously in any way be regarded as an exhaustive report of this show…(especially all the high end bottlings at the « VIP » level, as I choose not to go there, also because most of these bottles are too expensive for me, but also for my most of my viewers…for timing reasons, I have alas again to give up to attend Masterclasses, even if some day I’d love to go to Serge & Dave’s one…). Also, I know I missed again some important stands, apologies to those (they know) I promised to go or was sure to go, but couldn’t…That said, I managed (with the help of spittoons, water & biscuits) to try 93 whiskies, 1 Cognac & 2 gins (whiskies from 28 different distilleries), so I will give you my first impressions regarding tastings, and also a glimpse of some bottles I tried that are going straight on my wishlist of purchases. So expect some of these bottles to be reviewed on my channel in the future…
Here is a link to a short video from the organizers of the show which shows you a bit of what it looked like (I recommend to slow the speed), and this Youtube channel does also record each year’s Masterclasses, so you might find it interesting, as a lot of them are done in English… :
Besides, you will find on my INSTAGRAM a lot of informations, impressions or reviews about a lot of whiskies & other spirits I tried on those last years :
