A foraging walk with friends is one of my favourite ways to spend a fall day. On this outing we get into a red oak stand to search for the elusive Grifola frondosa aka Hen-Of-The-Woods aka Maitake. We’re also after another “hen” of the woods – the ruffed grouse.
