Fred Sirieix, star of First Dates, is reportedly in talks to go on I’m a Celebrity.

The Maître d’ Overcomes His Fear of the Jungle’s Food to Join It

The famous maître d’ from the movie First Dates, Fred Sirieix, is apparently in talks to appear on the 2018 season of I’m a Celebrity.

Although he enjoys frog legs, Fred, 51, said he “would never” participate in the ITV reality show since the bushtucker trials didn’t fit his culinary standards.

The Sun was informed by a TV insider that the producers of the show are interested in signing Fred Sirieix in part because they believe he will appeal to female viewers. ‘Everyone’s incredibly happy that they’re close to signing him up,’ the insider said.

In an interview with Hello! from last year, Fred admitted that his initial reluctance to join the reality series was due to his allergy to eating exotic and raw dishes. ‘I don’t believe I’d do I’m A Celebrity, I wouldn’t be too keen on eating a camel’s anus or something like that,’ he joked.

The French gourmet insisted that his preference for grilled frogs above the difficulties of the jungle was paramount. “I know I eat frogs, I’m French,” he admitted, “but at least those frogs are cooked!” They taste great after being cooked, unlike camel anus, which must be blended and consumed raw. It’s horrible. Some of my friends have been, and they assure me that it is not a “gastronomie.”

MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment following this unexpected development.

Even though Gino D’Acampo said he was leaving the Road Trip show in March, it was just announced that the popular trio of food experts, Gordon Ramsay, and Fred Sirieix, will be returning to television screens for a new series.

In their upcoming series “Gino, Gordon, and Fred: Viva Espana!” the three chefs will be taking viewers on yet another culinary journey, this time to Spain. The premiere is set for the following month on both ITV and ITVX.

Gino’s decision to leave the show was explained by his wish to keep in touch with his co-stars, spend more time with his family, and have more flexibility in his schedule, among other things.

The filming and announcement of the upcoming season of Road Trip occurred before Gino’s departure, although the season won’t premiere until “early 2023.”

In the past, Gordon, Gino, and Fred have sampled dishes from France, Italy, Scotland, Morocco, the United States, Finland, and Greece. Their latest venture will take them to Andalusia and Galicia in Spain, where they will serve up delectable cuisine and surprise viewers with performances of traditional dances like the flamenco.

In addition, “Gordon, Gino, and Fred: Unseen” will feature never-before-seen highlights from the trio’s previous escapades, and two special episodes are scheduled for the Christmas season, marking a joyous return for the trio.
