Most people who visit Branson, Missouri think of Silver Dollar City, crowds, lots of traffic, shows, and maybe even the t.v. show Ozark. There is a side to Branson that is tucked away from all of the hullabaloo. That place is at the Chateau on the Lake. Here Mother Nature sets the stage. At The Chateau you can rest, unwind and let nature take center stage with a peaceful performance.
This hotel perched high atop rocky bluffs along Table Rock Lake looks like a castle from long ago. But, don’t let that fool you! It has all the amenities one would hope for in this modern day.
There’s an indoor atrium with lavish greenery, waterfalls, a meandering stream filed with coy fish and two cages with birds. You will find indoor and outdoor pool areas, a gym, kids club area, spa (that is super nice but be sure and make a reservation)and a cute little movie theater featuring family friendly movies!
You will find gourmet dining in the onsite restaurants, cafe, and ice cream shoppe. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Chateau Grille. This is an award winning restaurant with an extensive wine menu.
The Chateau also offers a variety of rooms, so no matter what the size of your family, there is a room for you! We had a mountain view suite. Our oversized guest room was beautifully appointed. The furniture was cherry, the style French country and the bathrooms are tiled. There was a private bedroom and a sitting room with a pull-out sleeper sofa. I did feel that the bathroom was on the small size but that was a minor thing.
There are also numerous paths outside the Chateau to explore. There is a 2.5K nature trail, tennis courts, kids outdoor playground, complimentary kayaks, rowboats and canoes, jet skis to rent and pontoon boats. This are is also a bird lovers dream. There are several Blue Marlin birdhouse scattered throughout the grounds and many other birds visiting!
And have I mentioned the views!! The views are amazing! Table Rock Lake with a backdrop of the Ozark mountains is hard to beat! I enjoyed just sitting on the balconies (and there are several) and looking at the ever changing view!
The Chateau has a superior staff who met any requests happily and the service was always fast and friendly.
