A recent budget surplus will allow California schools to invest more money into healthy options – some of which feel downright gourmet! The $15 Billion in state and federal funding will go to crafting chef-driven menu items at schools including menu items like vegan chana masala and fish with berries and acorns. Education administrators are wary of challenges ahead include sourcing skilled labor; typically school cafeteria workers make less than their fast food working counterparts.
