Growing up, after returning from school, we would sit down for our afternoon tea to tell our parents all about our day. we grew up with the traditional indian snacks. But my husband grew up with fancier snacks. He loves his indian snacks but they do tend to be on the heavier side ( since almost all of them are deep fried ). Cookies get boring and cakes are too complicated for a ta time snack. Thats where the madeleines come in. These little cakes are easy to make and are aperfect accompaniment to your tea. Flavour it with orange zest, lemon zest or mochafy it. There are hundreds of ways to make these special. So try them out today.
