The former Terrace Plaza Hotel was built circa 1948 and closed in 2008. The iconic landmark building was developed by John J. Emery, Jr., also known for his development of the Carew Tower and Netherland Plaza Hotel. Designed by world famous architectural firm, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (One World Trade Center, Burj Khalifa, Trump Tower, Willis Tower), The Terrace Plaza was an early example of Mid-Century Modern International style architecture and one of the world’s first mixed use structures.

The property was home to J.C. Penney and Bond’s Department Stores on the first seven floors, a sky lobby and seasonal ice rink on the 8th floor, 324 ultra-modern luxury hotel rooms and The Gourmet Room rooftop 5-Star French Restaurant overlooking the Cincinnati skyline. The Terrace Plaza has now been closed for over 10 years and is poised for redevelopment in the bustling Cincinnati Central Business District.
