3/4 potatoes should be enough for 2 people so adjust for the amount of people you are feeding. Best variety of potato to use are floury ones like Maris piper, king edward etc.
800g of fish will be enough for 2 people so adjust for the amount of people you are feeding. I would recommend a thick white fish for this recipe such as Cod, Haddock, Hake etc.
1 or 2 litres of oil for frying depending on the size of your pan.
Ingredients for the beer batter:
7 tbsp plain flour (56g)
7 tbsp corn-starch (56g)
1 tsp baking powder (4.5g)
Season with salt & pepper
1/4 cup dark beer (85g)
1/4 cup sparkling water (85g)
Ingredients for the crushed peas:
Frozen peas (adjust for the amount of people you are feeding)
Approx 50g butter (more or less, up to you)
Approx 6-10 fresh mint leaves or 1 tbsp dried mint (up to your personal taste)
2 tbsp lemon juice
Serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and tartar sauce or the condiment of your choice….viola!
