Wow! What an EPIC week we’ve had in our vanlife Italy tour. In this episode we drive from Austria down to the Umbria region. We visited Austria briefly on our last trip and couldn’t wait to get back there to see some more of the insane views… and let me tell you, they definitely didn’t disappoint! The mountains and alpine valleys give us all the feels. There’s something so magical about this country, it is firmly at the top of our ‘favourite countries’ list so if you’re thinking about visiting, you absolutely should!
And once we’d crossed the border onto Italian soil, we could hear the authentic pizza and pasta calling our names. We’ve eaten some of the best food of our lives this week and it’s going to be hard to beat on the rest of the trip. Not forgetting the local wines too, of course.
We can’t explain how good it feels to be back exploring towns and cities and experiencing the hustle and bustle of travel again. That buzz deep down in our bellies is the whole reason we live this life and the medieval town of Orvieto was such a treat after 18 months of restrictions. It’s given us that bug for learning more about the history of places we visit so you’ll get to enjoy loads more Wikipedia explainers with us in videos to come (you lucky devils!)
