Sometimes we need very special desert for our family or guests of honor (or maybe just for us)! This recipe might look gourmet, but it’s really easy to make with just a few simple ingredients. Poached pears is a classic holiday dessert but can be made any time of year, but is particularly festive for Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Ingredients:

Firm pears – 3-4
Good quality red wine – 500 ml.
Sugar – 100 gr.
Cloves – 1
Piece of cinnamon
Black peppercorns – 4
1 large orange zest
Vanilla

Time for cooking: 40 min + 24 h for rest.
