This video tells the story of planting grape plants in the smallest red wine Vineyard of `Cairanne. 3 of the 27 grape plants needs to be newly planted. 2 Grenache plants and 1 Cinsault plant. All the Syrah plants are doing well. In the southern Cotes du Rhone French wine region the Grenache and the Syrah grape are the most popular.
My little vineyard is the smallest red wine terroir in the old village of Cairanne. Cairanne is a Cru Cotes du Rhone Wine village since 2016. Cairanne has approx 1.000 inhabitants and roughly 30+ independent Vigneronnes who make their own wine. All the others sell their grapes to a Cooperative. Cairanne is a village in the Vaucluse (84) department and part of the region Provence Cote ‘d’Azur. From Cairanne you can reach three other departments within 30 minutes. The Drome, Gard and Ardeche. Vineyards in these departments belong also to the Cotes du Rhone wine region. With a 15 minute distance to the A7, route du soleil, Cairanne is a great spot for your Provence holiday.
