Hi, I am Shtukensia. Would you like to eat healthy homemade food?
I was born in Russia (USSR actually) and I used to eat a lot of original dishes of Russian – Siberian, Tatar, Caucasian; Ukrainian, Uzbek and other CIS cuisine. Babushkas made amazing borscht, belmeni, pirozhki, blini, syrniki etc.
Until I was 25 years old I never cooked much as my family ruled our home kitchen, I was just enjoying the food. When I start living on my own I began my cooking journey. I failed a lot. I litteraly started from scratch as I had almost zero cooking skills.
Soon I realized the benefits of homemade dished: 1) you save money if you cook your favorite dishes at home rather than go to restaurants; 2) you coose the best ingredients for your food; 3) cooking is fun and the most rewarding hobby! You can make sushi, ramen, risotto, sweets and sauces at home.
So I focused on collecting and testing recepies. I asked my relatives for cookbooks and their secrets. I watched people cooking their best dishes. And researched all different couisines all over the World — from European and African to Asian and American gourmet and local dishes.
A while ago I fell in love with making bread and working with dough and sourdough — so my home menu has expanded with breads, pita, pizza, pasta, cakes, pies etc. During lockdown I made my first Borodinskiy black rye bread, burgers, french fries and baguette in home oven.
Step by step I equip my cook room with kitchenware — multicooker, food processor, blender etc. This machines really help to save time and to make more interesting dishes. Anyway I prefer to keep everything as simple as possible, so most of the time I use just my hands and basic appliance.
Who else can please your taste better that yourself? Let’s become homemade Michelin three stars chiefs. You can deffenitely do it yourself! Please, tell me about your cooking experience. Ask any questions in comments section downbelow the video on YouTube.
