Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati presents its virtual cookbook in lieu of its annual Gourmet Grub for Good fundraising event, where member organizations of the federation of social justice, environmental, and animal welfare charities typically cook dishes and guests enjoy a night out voting for their favorites. Due to coronavirus social distancing requirements, this year’s event is this virtual cookbook featuring recipes and demonstration videos from our member charities.
After watching the videos, we encourage you to support our participating charities by going to our voting/donation page and making a gift at
Each dollar constitutes one vote for that organization/recipe, and there is no limit on how much you may vote for your favorite.

3 TB melted unsalted butter
1 ¼ cup milk
4 eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
Pinch of salt
Mix to runny consistency. A few lumps are fine.
Chill covered for at least an hour.
Cook in nonstick pan with butter over medium heat. ¼ cup per crepe. Swirl pan around to spread batter to create very thin pancake. Cook 2-3 minutes then flip. Make sure not too brown. Cook second side 30 seconds. Cool on plate.
6 TB unslated butter
¼ cup sugar
Juice and zest of 1-2 oranges
Grand Marnier or Bourbon
Put butter, sugar, juice, and zest in pan and cook until caramel sauce. Fold crepes into quarters and place in sauce. Spoon sauce over top of them. After a few minutes turn off the flame and pour liquor liberally over crepes. Reignite stovetop and tilt pan until contents catch on fire. Allow alcohol to burn off. (Keep a pan lid handy in case you need to extinguish the flames in an emergency.) Plate after it has stopped burning.
