In this video we will learn how to prepare Traditional Irish Rooster Potato with Curry Sauce.
For 2 portions we will need:
– 4 Large Rooster Potato – Make sure to wash them first
– Pot with cold water, always start cooking your potato in cold water
– Deep Fat Fryer
– Vegetable Oil
– Salt
– McDonnell’s Curry Powder
1. We start by filling large pot with cold water. We wash out potato and cut them into thick wedges then we place them into our pot with cold water and add plenty of salt.
2. We place our pot on the stove and bring water to gentle simmer. We cook it for 8 minutes.
3. After that, place the potato in the fridge for 30 min to chill. Potato have to be cold.
4. We set the deep fryer for 130 Degrees and *blanche our potato wedges for 8 minutes. *Blanch means half-cooked.
5. After frying, place potato in the fridge for 30 min to chill
6. Last stage, take potato from the fridge make sure they are cold. Deep fry for 5 min @ 180 Degrees until golden brown.
7 . Add curry sauce made according to the instruction on the pack. You can reduce it to make the sauce thicker.
