Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the French National Assembly building in Paris on Tuesday, to protest against the so-called ‘Global Security’ bill being proposed in France.
Protesters were seen setting off flares, chanting and waving union flags in Paris decrying the proposed bill which would make it illegal to disseminate images in which police officers or gendarmes can be personally identified. The bill has been criticised by activists and journalists, who state it would present a danger to press freedom.
The protesters gathered as the French National Assembly is expected to discuss the bill during the Assembly’s sessions from Tuesday onwards.
