I am very excited to offer these fine, yet affordable selections to you. If you’ve wanted to try French wines but have been intimidated by the price…this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!

Maison Louis Latour has been a well-regarded négociant in Burgundy since 1897. As the land and the quality in Burgundy garners higher price tags, Maison Louis Latour has sought out lesser known IGTs that exhibit Burgundian qualities for a fraction of the cost.

This week’s offerings are a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir that are very much in the style that is associated with Burgundy, however they are at an every-day sipper’s budget.

First up, Chardonnay.
2017 Maison Louis Latour Ardèche Chardonnay
Retail: $11.99
VIP: $8.99
2017 Ardèche Chardonnay is grown on limestone soils in the IGP of Ardèche located on the western bank of the Rhone River. The Ardèche River is a tributary to the Rhone and is an essential geographic feature to Saint-Joseph and Coronas.
This 100% unoaked Chardonnay is a great chameleon for a white Burgundy. It has the supple and silky mouthfeel of a Village level wine with the apple, pear and almond aromas and flavors that you expect from the wine in the Cote d’Or. Simply stunning for the price!

Second Act: The Pinot Noir
2016 Maison Louis Latour Domaine de Valmoissine Pinot Noir
Retail:$16.99
VIP: $14.99
This Pinot Noir is grown on limestone and clay soils at 500 meters above sea level in the IGP of Var. While near Nice in the south of France, the climate here is amenable to Pinot Noir and it’s delicate sensibilities. This wine has complex aromas of dark, red berries along with some forest floor and some peppery spice. On the mouth the dark brooding fruit is balanced by a vibrant zip of dark cherry and soft tannins. A masterfully crafted Pinot Noir that is a great introduction to great French Pinot at a silly low price.

Whether you are gathering the whole tribe from near and far, having a Friends-giving with neighbors or you prefer to go to everyone else’s houses…pick up a few of these gems to sip, savor and gift throughout the holiday season!

The Holidays are coming…stock up now.
