Fancy eating out safely and with style in post-pandemic times? Discover ‘Plex’eat’, a creation of French interior designer Christophe Gernigon, which has already been dubbed ‘the future of restaurant dining’.
The creator fitted a trendy restaurant in Paris with the innovative protection and came to assess its success on Wednesday.
The structure made of a safe and hard-to-break Plexiglas does not only allow the gourmands to enjoy their meal in safety but also helps the restaurants owners, who have been having a hard time due to lockdown and strict regulations upon reopening, to double their profits and amortise the losses: “I wanted it to be easily removable so that restaurant owners could clean it very quickly and put it back very quickly so that they could do two services [per table], which means trying to recover losses with two services”, Gernigon explained.
The novelty has been met with excitement across the globe and, according to Gernigon, the designer received inquiries from such countries such as the US and Japan.
