Whether you’re envisioning a rustic, modern, or antique finish for your chalk painted wood, you want to make sure the look lasts. In this edition of “Quick Tips from Minwax®” learn how to use chalk paint and Minwax® Paste Finishing Wax to achieve a long-lasting designer look.
Minwax® Paste Finishing Wax is available in two colors, Natural and Special Dark. The Natural finish will give a velvety matte finish. While the Special Dark is good for dark woods and great for achieving a vintage, antique look.
Start by lightly sanding the edges of the chalk paint surface. After removing the dust, apply a thin coat of finishing wax. Allow it to dry for 10 to 15 minutes, then buff with a clean cloth. Minwax® Paste Finishing Wax can be used on furniture, antiques, woodwork, cabinets, doors, paneling, or wood accessories!
