Crown Cap Georgian Sparkling wine.
Why is it so weird!

Ori Marani is a new Georgian winery run by a by Champenoise-Georgian couple.
A young man from Champagne who studied in Burgundy ended up falling in love and making sparkling wine in western Georgia. They are Champagne style bubbles as well as Ancestral Method “Pet Nats” and still wines. And also this wacky Sparkling Rose, made with honey!
As a new winery they are sourcing from different vineyards in Kakheti, Kartli & Imereti.

This Rose is made from Moldova a table grape that is locally knonw as “Gorulli Aladasturi” which is different than the Aladasturi in Kakheti.
Imereti is not as famous a Kahketi, but is known for having really diverse terroirs.

This is an experimental wine. It is a sparkling rose made in a unusual way. The base wine is first fermented in Qvevri & old french oak barrels. But to restart the fermentation the bottle, honey was added!
Apparently the next vintages of this Areva are made using a blend of white grapes.
