In this video, we are getting started with some red wine from grapes. The grapes we are using are from Suisun Valley California (Lanza), and Lodi California (Mettler). We are making a Zinfandel, Merlot, and a Meritage style red blend with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Primativo. These are the first steps in making wine from grapes at home. The equipment needed to make wine from grapes at this scale are a crusher destemmer, a barrel or food grade trash cans to ferment, a press, and a lot of carboys or a barrel for storing the wine.
