Our take on the famous French onion soup. Very delicious and comforting, this soup will give you a feeling of warmth and satisfaction. Aromas of sweet caramelized onion and cognac will fill the house and you will surely go for another plate 🙂 . And this dish is so easy to make. Best served extremely hot right out of the oven as soon as the cheese is fully melted. Even if you do not like onions, believe us, you will love it! Once onion is caramelized, it will taste completely different, very sweet with a hint of baked apples. Don’t forget to check our video for this recipe!

Ingredients:

Onions (sliced) – 700-800 g
Butter – 20 g
Garlic (cloves) – 3
Beef Stock – 2 cubes
Bread (ciabatta or baguette) – few pieces
Thyme (dried) – ½ tsp
Flour (AP) – 2 tbsp
Emmental Cheese – 220 g
Olive Oil – 2 tbsp
White Wine (dry) – 140 ml
Cognac – 25 ml
Sugar – 1 tsp
Water – 1.7 L
