Composer Frederic Chopin – Piano Concerto No 1 E Minor Op. 11-1 Classical Music
Composer Frederic Chopin – Piano Concerto No 1 E Minor Op. 11-1 Allegro Maestoso (String Quintet arr.) Classical Music.
Frédéric Chopin wrote his Piano Concerto in E minor, Op. 11, in 1830, and first performed it that same year. The premiere, with him as a soloist, was part of one of his ‘farewell’ concerts, before leaving Poland. This concerto was the first of Frederic Chopin’s two piano concertos to be published and was therefore designated as ‘no. 1’, even though it was written after the one that was later published as ‘no. 2’.
The Piano Concerto no. 1 in E minor, Op. 11, was dedicated to Friedrich Kalkbrenner. The music of Poland appears in the finale, a Vivace – rondo that features a polka. Frederic Chopin paid homage to his homeland in numerous pieces, both big and small, and here he brought this lively dance to an international audience.
Frederic Francois Chopin was a Polish composer March 1, 1810 -October 17, 1849, virtuoso pianist, and music teacher of French-Polish parentage. He was one of the great masters of Romantic piano music.
Frederic Chopin was born in Zelazowa Wola, a village in the Duchy of Warsaw. He was considered a child prodigy and, after completing his musical education and following the Russian suppression of the Polish 1830 Uprising, he settled in Paris.
He supported himself as a composer and piano teacher, giving few public performances. From 1837 to 1847 he carried on a relationship with the French woman writer George Sand. For most of his life, Chopin suffered from poor health; he died in Paris in 1849 at the age of 39.
The vast majority of Chopin’s works are for solo piano, the most notable exceptions being his two concertos. His compositions, though technically demanding, emphasize nuance and expressive depth. Chopin invented the musical form known as ‘instrumental ballade’ and made major innovations to the piano sonata, mazurka, waltz, nocturne, polonaise, etude, impromptu, scherzo, and prelude.
