DO YOU REMEMBER that good old southern cooking? When I was growing up, my granny was my favorite cook. My mama was an amazing cook as well, but there was just something about being in granny’s kitchen.
I have made it so easy for you to learn how to cook like my granny and mama did with cooking tutorials for each and every recipe in our cookbooks. You can see how to order these by visiting us on our website. Oh and no difficult to find or crazy ingredients! Just simple ingredients and really good food.
I am a southern girl born in raised in Collard Valley in Polk County Georgia. We went to church on Sunday, school during the week, the grocery store on Friday’s and that was our life. No vacations, no camping, just plain old southern country people
NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
French Toast
1 1/2 CUPS MILK
3 RAW EGGS (WHISK BEFORE ADDING)
1 TSP VANILLA FLAVORING OR EXTRACT
1 TSP. CINNAMON
1/4 TSP NUTMEG (OPTIONAL)
2 TBSP. GRANULATED SUGAR
Whisk above ingredients together and place in a shallow dish that is large enough to dip your bread in. I like to use a pie plate.
LOAF BREAD BUTTER
POWDERED SUGAR PANCAKE SYRUP
Use a large skillet that will hold at least two pieces of bread. I use regular wheat loaf bread, but you can use your choice of bread!
Preheat your skillet on medium setting. Put butter in bottom of skillet. 1-2 tbsp. per each piece of loaf bread you plan to cook.
Dip loaf bread into the mixture and flip. Repeat (both sides dipped twice but quick dips)
Place it in preheated and buttered skillet. Leave it in long enough that egg cooks and it is light brown. Flip it over and cook other side.
Take out place on your plate. Sprinkle with a dusting of powdered sugar. Serve with bacon and fresh fruit! “Fast, Easy & Incredibly Delicious”.
