This is Julien, the Frenchman who makes French pronunciation videos here on YouTube, and we are looking at how to pronounce the name of this small breed of dog of the Bichon type, whose name is derived from French. In France, the name of this dog is Bichon a poil frisé which translates into curly lap dog. Bichon, that’s the type of dog, and frisé in French means curly. So this is essentially a curly Bichon. Bichon frisé. Typical French pronunciation: Bichon frisé. But in American or English it’d be fine to say: Bichon frisé. Bichon frisé. Bichon frisé.
