The kitchen in this home is very warm and such a stark contrast to this fireplace. I wish it wasn’t white but don’t know if I could paint it or just add warm elements around it to help the contrast. Any advice is appreciated!

Natural, organic textures. A woven basket with a chunky throw, a nicely patina-ed brass firewood holder with chopped wood,  or even a nice plant in a woven pot.

Large area rug for the sofa.

Never a fan of TVs above fireplaces.

TV would be better on wall to the left. Preferably standing on a low natural wood unit.

    Flip furniture 90°.

Put a large mirror with gilt surround in place of TV. Small ornaments and plants on mantlepiece. Maybe a large antique fire guard.

Large plush rug in front of sofa. Large natural fabric log basket.

  4. Um…I do believe the TV needs to come down a bit. My turn.. what color of area rug would you choose? We have a more muted color in leather as your furniture set. Still no rug over here!
