moving into a new apartment with a diagonal wall in the living room and struggling to figure out where to place the couch/tv. can't get new furniture as of right now so this is what i'm stuck with in terms of couch/dining/tv layout.. position of the ottoman part of the couch can be changed!
i like layout one because it has the most open space and im a sucker for space but worried it will be hard to view the tv from the couch at that angle.
any ideas?

are you able to mount the TV? that way you could keep this layout and adjust the TV angle for viewing as needed, and swing it flat against the wall at other times.

Do you use the table regularly for eating/working? If not, could you store that in another area? Would the floor plan feel better without the table and chairs?
Take into account where the window is in the living room and which way the window faces, west or east. If the living room window faces west and you want to go with layout one, you might get light glare on the TV so might need curtains to help control that.
Overall layout 1 does allows for easy conversation flow when you have company or host a party.
