I was invited to the most ridiculous tasting of 2026 so far; 15 vintages of Bürklin Wolfs Pechstein G.C. (09-24) along with some goodies like the double magnum of 2003 Pechstein, the 1996 Ungeheuer, and various other GGs to put the wines into some sort of context.

There were also quite a few interesting-to-amazing wines at the aftershow party (at Rohstoffwine in Deidesheim), and surprisingly a lot of winemakers and locals. I have honestly never seen a wine bar be so full in a village with 4000 people, or any place for that matter.

I will try to collect my thoughts and answer every question regarding notes or vintages, but it is honestly too much to list right away 😅

My favorite vintages were 11, 17 and 21. My favorite non-Bürklin Riesling was the Schnaitmann and my favorite aftershow drink was the beer. 😋
