Hi friends!

I don't have a ton of experience painting. At all. That being said, we have a few spots around our house that need touched up. I took a chip sample to Home Depot and had them do a color match. Awesome! The chip we provided matched how it dried on the can.

Got home, painted the small spots on the wall that needed touched up. When it dried, it was much darker. Hmm. I thought maybe it was the sheen of the paint. I believe it was satin.

Took the paint back and provided another sample. This time they gave us a different sheen, eggshell. The associate put some of the matched paint right on the paint chip we had provided. Couldn't tell the difference.

We got home, painted over the spots we had previously painted and it's still darker. Help?!

Is it because I'm using a brush instead of a roller?

Could it be that sunlight has faded the original paint?
