I feel like there is something missing. How would you decorate this room differently?

This is how I usually have my living room. Before you say /r/tvtoohigh, I’m going to get a lower TV stand. Probably in black but I’m open to suggestions.

What changes would you make to make this look better? I am considering a carpet to add color to the floor but I’m worried the room might look too furry with the cover on the ottoman and sofa, but I would prefer to keep those since the ottoman is damaged.

I am open to some suggestions! I didn’t put too much effort into it, it’s just some basic stuff I had that I arranged together.
