Design without impacting flow

I’m moving into this house and am feeling a bit stuck on other ways to set this space up. I’ve essentially mimicked the current owner’s setup and don’t mind it, but it seems like the only space for the tv is where it currently is, between two doors in the walkway between the kitchen and rest of the house. I think the dining room has to remain in the front of the house because of the layout as well.

Is there anything you would do differently in this space to optimize utility while keeping a nice flow? The current owners seem to have no storage in the living room but we play board games often and I’m not sure how to create a design with all this in mind. I was thinking of getting a thin console cabinet under the tv but worry any added depth into the walkway would disrupt the flow. I’m also considering adding some sort of thin storage behind the couch.

I don’t own any of the furniture in the picture, but I will be using an MCM round coffee table.
