My first time trying Unico, currently in northern Spain and have been on the lookout to try it by the glass. I got the opportunity while dining at Can Jubany (Incredible meal)
Color: Incredibly dark color in glass, slight bricking on the edges
Smell: spicy notes, definitely smells of Bordeaux if that’s a thing 🤣,
Taste: OUT OF THIS WORLD, complex, smooth, dark fruited. You could taste the age but still fruit forward. I’ve been trying to drink older wines recently and can see how most have fallen off. This was perfect. Smooth aged notes while still having lots of fruit. The small amount of Cabernet still came through and my first time having Tinto Fino
Price: €98/large pour
Verdict: worth every euro, they had the bottle for €580 so this seemed worth it. Paired amazingly with the meal and was a true wine highlight and trip highlight. Could age long but I don’t think it needed it amazing wine and so happy to get to try it while I. Spain 🇪🇸
