We’re finally sharing the full story of why we left the United States and started a new life in France.

From how we first fell in love with France, to how we met, to the real reasons that pushed us to make the move, this is everything. The parts people assume, and the parts no one sees. Was it politics? Work? Healthcare? Cost of living? The truth is, it’s not just one reason, and we’re breaking it all down.

If you’ve ever thought about leaving, starting over, or building a different kind of life, this video is for you.

  1. Let’s not blame Trump. Your friend the mayor and governor helped defund the police who should be protecting, and as for trans people, aren’t they mostly responsible for many recent shootings. You can live a gay life without the cliche blame and me me me attitude. Such self victimising. Shish!!!!!!!!

  2. Thanks for sharing your story! As an American also living in France, it's always interesting to hear how people end up here. I'm happy for you two!

  3. I could relate to so much of different parts of both of your experiences. I grew up in Texas, and moved to LA (which I loved). I also always felt a connection to France, but doubted myself and didn't pursue it fully for quite a while. In a way that worked out because some of what I did help make it feasible to be here. I love the French language, and it's the first language I've learned that I actually have learned to speak. People are wonderful here, too. I have some connections to the Hollywood side of things, as I inherited rights to the books of a partner of mine, books that just recently have been picked up for print here in France (one for the first time in any language), Spain, and Italy. Even getting a film inquiry for here in France. I read something recently about a lot of filming now taking place in France now, so maybe that's part of it, but it is gratifying and exciting. I moved to France to live in France. I loved, it, I wasn't escaping life in the US, though I do feel extra-glad that I'm here with all that's going on back there. I also got married here in France (to a wonderful Frenchie), it was a beautiful experience (and that did get my mom to get her passport and fly to France for the wedding! She loved it!). While, unfortunately, I'm now a widower, I wouldn't trade my life and love for him for anything. Anyway, glad you guys have found what looks like a great home and life for yourselves. Thanks for this video, it explains very clearly your interests and how you got where you are. My only envy is I wish I could have moved here when I was much younger, like you guys are. But, the important thing is I did make it, and it was one of my best ever decisions. It's not perfect, but it's the best place for me.

  4. So nice of you to share some of your backstory. The switch from the later horrendous working conditions to earlier romantic meet-cute in Paris caused such an emotional whiplash!
    Great retelling!

  5. Thanks
For sharing this beautiful story. I adore your channel and getting to hear how the journey is going 🎉🇫🇷😻

  6. Very interestingly, the French are very liberal about sexuality. Even the conservative rural population is more accepting than in the US on average. France had a gay prime minister recently, Gabriel Attal. I think France is very safe for members of LGBTQ.

  7. Me too. 😢 I’m from the Bay Area , in an amazing area but I’m leaving in June to the Bordeaux area for similar reasons. Plus America is changing for the worse. The healthcare is designed to bankrupt you which has always been that way and now politically just so exhausting . Then my job too is the highest paying I’ve ever had but the stress is going to kill me so I decided to retire early. In Europe employers are not even allowed to contact you on your personal time off. Glad you got out of your toxic work life. Thanks for sharing your story. Hope to run in to you lovely’s one day. ❤
