Nobody tells you this about French culture—and it completely changes how you understand French people.

When a French person argues with you about wine, debates your opinions, or challenges your perspective… that’s not rude. That’s actually respect.

In this video, I break down the hidden cultural code that most tourists and expats completely miss:

→ Politeness = you’re a stranger → Debate = you’re worth engaging with
→ Argument = you matter to them

Most cultures avoid conflict to show respect. French culture uses intellectual debate to show you’re valued. If they’re just polite and agreeable? You’re nobody to them.

This insight changed everything about how I understand French communication, relationships, and culture.

As a french living in North America, the most striking things for is in france we re not as friendly than north Americans, we don't hi to everyone on the street we don't talk much to stranger in the street but as we do speak is because we respect you and doesn't expect anything from you, we invite you tonour home pay some drink and become friends way more faster than north Americans people.
