ABOUT THIS EPISODE:
Join us for an exclusive tour of the spectacular Chateau de Belebat, a magnificent 16th-century French chateau in the Loire Valley, with owners Jeffrey and Oscar from the YouTube channel “Saving Belebat”.
Built in 1550, this extraordinary historic home has survived centuries of change — including a devastating fire that burned for five days in 2003. Today, Jeffrey and Oscar are lovingly restoring the property, transforming its historic buildings into beautiful holiday gîtes, planning a future café, and gradually bringing this remarkable estate back to life.
In this episode of Chateau Love, we explore areas never before seen on camera, from soaring 17th-century interiors and charming turrets to a converted chapel, elegant guest accommodation, and the dramatic fire-damaged spaces still awaiting restoration.
This is a rare opportunity to see the hidden side of a historic Loire Valley chateau and learn what it really takes to preserve French architectural heritage.

ABOUT US:
Bonjour! I’m Vivienne, an artist, designer, antique & vintage jewelry dealer, and also the châtelaine of the small 19th century neo-Renaissance “Chateau de La Croix Boisée” in the Loire Valley of France. I share this lovely home with my delightful husband, Simon, our daughter, and —whenever possible— lovely friends and family.

This is not our first chateau! 26 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, after 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and —of course— antiques and art!

We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

  1. Happy Easter and good afternoon Vivian and Simon 🌞🌷🐦🪺🪻🌞 wow! What an amazing historic Chateau! Love hearing the history and how each one decorates, restores ❤️🤗 beautiful countryside! Thank you for sharing 🤗❤️

  2. Hello, I just have to suggest strongly with a capital STRONGL Y that that little couch should be in the green because it takes color into the room and also matches the curtain panels in the doorway. There must be more color in that room, the pillows could be the tan silk.

Also, I was just that they take a very good picture of the tears of Bella bat and they can reproduce that into a wallpaper that could be for a print that could be applied to the shower
