I spent €490 at one of Paris’ most legendary 3 Michelin star restaurants, Epicure — but did it truly deliver a three-star experience? In this video, I visit Epicure to find out whether classic French fine dining at this level is really worth it.
Located inside Le Bristol Paris, Epicure is known for its elegant setting, exceptional service, and traditional French cuisine. From amuse-bouche and house-made sourdough to Brittany crab, black truffle risotto, scallop with caviar, Dover sole, and venison, I break down every course of this €490 tasting menu — including the highs, the lows, and whether it lives up to its reputation.

Be honest — at this price point,, would this feel worth it to you?
I love so many French foods – the cheeses, the sauces, the stocks and also the skill the French show when creating them. However, despite all this, I always perceive the main dishes (not the desserts) of French cuisine as slightly … underwelming? Boring? Like these great products are not assembled in a way that lets them shine the right way. Like the use of too much makeup to reach a certain look instead of using just the right amount to enhance.
Thanks for the honest review. I also dislike it when such a high-end restaurant overdoes it with truffles or other expensive ingredients. I think it detracts somewhat from the authenticity of the dishes. Keep up the good work!
Two truffle dishes back to back doesn't make sense. The venison way to rare. An honest review. ☀️
Thank you and your wife for a great video and honest remarks, love your video and would love to see the next one 🥰
French food is lovely just from home cooking experience. I've been waiting to try a french restaurant for countless years now but alas. I presume this restaurant tries to play it a bit to safe but most of the food looks excellent (save for the two main courses).
