  1. I dunno, but I never liked it
    Butter, herbs, and lemon juice;
    Or- if it’s fried- ketchup, horseradish, and hot sauce
    (I lived much of my adult life in New Orleans)

  2. I thought the ingredients contained tartaric acid and that's where the name came from.

  3. Just the name turns me off.
    Never tried it.
    Never will.
    Cream of tartar?
    What the heck is that?

  4. Red Lobster tartar sauce is shallot, chives, mayonnaise, pickled relish, chopped carrot straws, dijon mustard and lemon juice.

  5. I mix pickle relish and mayonnaise together and then put a splash of Worcestershire sauce and then a dash of Old Bay.

  6. Tartar sauce comes from the great empire of Tartary, that is buried by the mud flood and the deep state that doesn’t want us to forget about it.

  7. Nasty is what it is. Lemon or some other acid goes on fried seafood. Why would you put a fat based condiment on a deep fried food?

  8. Most people think tartar sauce is just for dipping… but it was actually meant to balance rich fried flavors, not cover them up

  9. In Indianapolis, St. Elmo's Steakhouse is famous for their horseradish forward shrimp cocktail and the potent prepared horseradish is sold refrigerated in grocery stores.
    I make my own cocktail sauce as hot as I dare. It's an awesome addition to homemade tartar sauce too.

  10. Condiment whore here, McDonald’s changed their mayonnaise about four years ago, but they used to make a really good tomato sauce and if you added the dehydrated onions to a chef’s kiss… watching this video has really excited me because fried fish is my favorite food and I love a good tartar sauce, not too tangy or vinegary and I prefer more on the sweet side. Red lobster is no longer near me, but they do have a good tartar sauce too, and Elias’s brother’s big boy used to have a really good tartar sauce.

    💕👊🏽💕

  11. An ingredient that is NOT in tartar sauce is cream of tartar! If you ever update this video, you might want to explain the difference. Thank you.
