Welcome to the “Garden of France” otherwise known as the Loire Valley!
It’s day one and we are settling into our chateau in Loche – a historical medieval town resting on the banks of the Indre River where kings and queen once traveled.
We then explore the Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise.
Leonardo Da Vinci brought the Mona Lisa to live here and serve the king of France (Francis I) from 1516 until his death May 2, 1519.
Then onto Château de Montdomaine for a look into how vintners made wine in mountain side caves for centuries. We have the loveliest time sampling wines as we sit down for the most beautiful picnic! A must for my France bucket list.
