I eat at and review Le Pré Catelan in Paris, France. The restaurant is considered one of the best and most luxurious in the city and has 3 Michelin stars. Tucked away in the Bois de Boulogne, inside a historic building, the restaurant boasts a magnificent dining room which serves a 12-course tasting menu for €435. Le Pré Catelan is the product of chef Frédéric Anton, one of the most famous chefs in France.

some of these courses might as well have been a single fried fish scale or a single molecule of fermented pollen or something
If you want to get the bill fast, stand up and start walking out.
I was there, a nice luxury restaurant, I liked it much though the thimble sizes are really weird! Thank You!
i'm just gonna watch this video munching on cheese and crackers.
Thanks for this video. As a French I can't bare those little portions, it's ridiculous. And almost 40€ a bite!
BTW, in most of the restaurants in France, the waiter don't bring you the bill unlike you ask him, it's impolite to bring the bill straight at the end of the meal because it's mean (for us) that they want you to leave the place now when we (Frenchs) like to take our time after food and tchat. But if you are alone they can bring it without asking for and when you ask them they have to bring it quickly. So, it was a faux pas from the waiter.
I would probably would never go to any of the restaurants you review, or pay that much, but I still enjoy your channel very much. ❤️
Unforgettable……😅😅😅😂😂😂…..one good restaurant three ⭐⭐⭐, why don't you go Maxim`De Paris Restaurant first….
Please, make an effort to pronounce French words correctly, thank you, nice video
1. You should tip. Not USA tip. But you DO tip.
2. Try the wine pairing. 1 glass of wine? Are you even into fine dining? No. I say no.
3. The bill doesn’t come fast in Europe. You’re showing your lack of travel. They don’t try to “turn tables” there. This is a you mistake.
4. I’ve eaten here and the caviar dish is fantastic. I actually told him it was so fantastic. I jokingly said I’d like another and the chef sent it out.
I truly always enjoy watching your finds all over 🌎 but of course mostly in NYC This by far was the most disappointing regarding full 12 course tasting menu we
were not impressed with and in my research definitely over priced over $500 is beyond just crazy with tiny portions is embarrassing 🙈
My business associates a few years ago seated outside with only Asian customers I thought once not intentional but on 3 other occasions from my former Company colleagues Japanese and Chinese was intentionally being done shame on them We have no intentions to check out this fall or ever recommend them with so many other options to visit in Paris ♥️😉
You need to be educated about wine, you drink it like Coke, this is very embarassing
James, I love your fine dining content. I know times have changed, but as an older viewer, I don't understand why you don't dress up more (a nice jacket and tie) at these high-end restaurants. Lately, people show up to fine dining looking completely disheveled in their underwear and a baseball cap. Who wants to pay hundreds of dollars to sit next an open bureau drawer? You don't need a tuxedo, just a classic navy sport coat and gray slacks. I noticed you dressed up some for this video—why not bring that same energy to all the fine dining restaurants you review? You seem to have a good palette and a good vocabulary. Describe the flavors you’re enjoying more, too. Everyone eats; few have taste? Fine dining’s fun and relaxing. Always pay your own way. It’s fair and few people do. They prefer to go fine dining when somebody else pays or it’s comped.
For that price we could eat at home for 4 months…and eat well.
James please consider reviewing Atomix. It has a Michelin star and was #2 on a best restaurant list.
Beautiful restaurant. Ridiculous you had to wait 30 min for the check though.
Where u full??? Was footage for Uber to Mickey D's omitted?? 😂
Urban BS. Decadence in all its splendor.
I wish they would state ingredient origins like lobster, fish, etc… Perhaps that is more of a NA thing to be transparent about. I am sorry you did not have great service, unfortunately it can be a mixed bag in France.
TIPS (for your next visit to France)
Greeting:) Always greet a French person by "Bonjour" first. It is considered impolite to not say this first.
Water:) Ask for a karafe of water. They are required by law to give you tap water when requested. You don't need to pay for bottled water.
Privacy:) Make sure you always ask to record first. Privacy is very important in France. A lot of foreign vloggers make the mistake of not asking permission first.
I’d walk out still hungry.
We say: Pré Cat'lan
What a bunch of cretins these people who eat just to show off they can waste $500 on air labeled as food.
I did not feel you were well treated there. Having lived in Paris, please don’t go out at night alone.
I am going you a like to contribute to reimbursement.
Standing up will always get you your check NOW!
I didnt even know Pre Catelan were open as early as 7pm, they must have really categorized you as the american tourist when you called and chose that time slot 😀
This is the Ozemp1k menu for someone who could afford both meds and the food!!!
