The 54TH Annual Italian American St. Joseph Society-St Joseph’s Day Parade 2026 in the historic French Quarter, New Orleans!
Celebrating Italian Heritage in New Orleans since 1970. 🇮🇹🍕🍝. 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚, the daughter of 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚 will reign as 2026 Grand Marshal.
Hello Everyone,
Today we present to you another awesome parade in New Orleans. The 2026 Italian American St. Joseph Society St. Joseph’s Day Parade. This parade is dedicated to the Italian-American Community in New Orleans!
Fifty years ago, a legend led the way.
In 1976, the one and only 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚 reigned as Grand Marshal, while he wasn’t able to attend that year, we still celebrated his music, magic, and unmistakable joy at the St. Joseph’s Day Parade. This year, we honor that golden anniversary in the most meaningful way possible… by celebrating legacy.
As we mark 50 years since Louis Prima’s historic reign, we are beyond honored to welcome his daughter, 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚, as our 2026 Grand Marshal. From father to daughter, the spirit lives on! Music, culture, charisma, and heart passed down through generations.
This isn’t just a celebration of the past, it’s a living, breathing continuation of it. Here’s to tradition, family, and legacy! 🇮🇹

Celebrating Italian American Heritage in New Orleans. Committed to keeping our heritage prevalent in New Orleans and paying homage to our forefathers
The Italian-American Marching Club was established in 1970 by Joseph Cardenia and friends. It is one of the largest ethnic organizations in the southeastern United States. The membership totals has grown to 1,500 strong in the past few years.
Their objective is to keep Italian heritage prevalent in New Orleans, the destination of many Italians in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The focal point of their organization incorporates the focal point of New Orleans’s festive culture – the parade each St. Joseph’s Day. The event begins with pizza, wine and Italian music, before the marchers who are dressed in black tuxedos march through the French Quarter. Locals and visitors line the streets to join the celebration and the marchers exchange salutations, hand out silk flowers and fava beans, as they dance and sing through the streets.
The Italian American St. Joseph Society is one of the largest ethnic organizations in the Southeastern United States.
Our organization is unique in that we have incorporated the focal point of New Orleans’ festive culture, the parade, into our love of our Italian heritage. We do this in celebration of St. Joseph’s Day each year.
The evening begins with pizza, wine, and Italian music, then the marchers, dressed in black tuxedos, proceed to parade through New Orleans’ famous French Quarter. Thousands of locals and tourists line the streets to take part in our celebration. We exchange salutations, hand out silk flowers and fava beans, and dance and sing with the bystanders. We follow the parade with a gala in the grand ballroom of the New Orleans Hilton, where our beautiful, young Italian signorinas are presented. We sip the wine and dance the Tarantella all night long. This event is the pinnacle of each year; however, we do enjoy events throughout the year.
This great organization allows all of the Italian Americans in New Orleans to enjoy the company of one another in a fun and festive environment. We celebrate life in appreciation of our heritage and strive to keep it significant in our city as it has been for over 100 years. We sincerely invite you, as an Italian American, to join the Italian American St Joseph Society and celebrate your heritage with us in New Orleans.
