In this video, Michael breaks down the hit series from the perspective of a real mobster, analyzing the leadership style of Tommy Shelby, the incredible performance of Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons, and the ruthless nature of the Shelby family business.

Michael also points out the major differences between the historical Birmingham gang and the American Mafia—specifically the prominent, voting role that women like Aunt Polly held in the Peaky Blinders’ “commission”.

  1. I'm confused why the subtitles? Is it an american thing to not understand english spoken with an accent? Or was it the particular accent he just didn't like? That is so odd.

  2. Sub titles???? It's the English language, not Japanese. That's hilarious that Americans use the English language and need subtitles. 😂

  3. They were called peaky blinders because they had razor blades stitched in the peak of their caps and would take the cap off and slash the faces

  4. The peaky's were running before the war, as you mentioned women are Prodomanet one of the scenes Polly mentioned having to run the show when the men went of fighting, for some who didn't know this knowledge the hats sort of nickname is a peaky, hence peaky blinders because of the Blades thew sew into the peakys, the real gang genuinely blinded people, the show depicts it think only once I believe 😂

  5. It's so funny hearing Americans having to put subtitles on to understand people from my home town. I feel like they're oftentimes clearer in the show than they would be in real life, although it's extremely fucking obvious that none of the cast are real Brummies. At least they're not from the Black Country.

  6. you couldnt get into it cos of the accents?? oh!! u couldnt understand them……thats what all us europeans think of u yanks. ur accents are like nails on a chalkboard

  7. im from ireland and cillian is a national treasure. pronounce his name with a K.."killian" not with the C

  8. Couldent get into the accent.. Watch with subtitles.. Americans never cease to amaze me.
But as a non native english speaker i get it, english is hard..

  9. I REALLY want to hear you review season 4 of the series where the peaky blinders war with the mob and get your take hahah

  10. Helen passed from cancer if many didn’t know it’s why she wasn’t in the last season

  11. With the subtitles it’s one of the best shows ever made. Up there with snowfall and breaking bad

  12. Did you actually watch season 4? That season is all about the Sicilian mafia coming to England to kill Tommy Shelby, The "Capo" Luca Changretta is played by New York actor Adrien Brody and he knocks it out of the park with his portrayal 👌

  13. You didn’t watch Peaky Blinders because you’re nothing like Tommy Shelby. Let’s be honest you flipped you’re a clown. You’re a poser and you are literally just a slimeball 😊
