We celebrated Dai’s birthday with an unforgettable Kyoto food adventure! 🎉 Lunch was at Kyoto Wakuden in Muromachi, a sister restaurant of the 2-Michelin-starred Koudaiji Wakuden, where we enjoyed a stunning multi-course kaiseki feast of seasonal Japanese ingredients. After lunch, we explored hidden spots at Kyoto Station — the Happy Terrace rooftop, the Skyway corridor, and a Lego gallery most visitors never find. We then stopped at La Maison Jouvaud, a French patisserie from Provence, for their signature lemon and chocolate cakes. For dinner, we cooked Wagyu sukiyaki at home Kyoto-style using high-grade Wagyu gifted by Dai’s mom, paired with an artisanal soy sauce tasting.
