Let me share this French-inspired modern pastry shop in the heart of downtown Raleigh.
Location: Lucettegrace 235 S Salisbury St, Raleigh, NC 27601
Lucettegrace serves my favorite course, dessert! This spot serves croissants, biscuits, cookies, brownies, macarons, petite cakes, tarts, coffees, and they even have a lunch menu.
I stopped by for a sweet treat and asked the server for his favorite items and I ended up ordering two little cakes.
The Passion Fruit Meringue Tart tasted tropical, floral, sweet and tart in a well-balanced way. I could really taste the passion fruit. The little cracker on the bottom gave it a bit of a pie-like crumbly texture.
I also ordered the Raspberry Beret which was so rich and decadent. It was made with a thin layer of chocolate cake, a thicker layer of chocolate mousse, and a glossy layer of dark chocolate covering the outer layer of the cake.
The raspberry flavors were well-infused into the chocolate mousse.
The light, milky, and creamy red powdery dot on the top helps balance out the richness of the chocolate and makes it look like a cute little Christmas hat.
I preferred the chocolate one more.
The desserts were petite and $4 dollars each but they were very intricate and in my opinion worth it.
This is the spot you would want to bring your bestie to and not feel like you overindulged afterwards. I would come back if I am craving a unique and fancy dessert.
Let me know if you have a favorite dessert spot I should try next in the comments. Follow or subscribe for more food reviews.
