To be labelled as a Reserva Rioja wines must be aged for a minimum of 3 years in total, with at least 1 year in oak barrels and at least 6 months (possibly to 2 years) in the bottle. Campo Viejo’s Reserva exceeds the minimum requirement for barrel ageing as it spends 18 months maturing in a mixture of American and French oak barrels. The wine then spends a further 18 months maturing in its bottle prior to release to the market.

  1. You pronounces the J in spanish like the H in the beginning of a word in english.
    Like Hollow, Happy, and Hungry.
The way you said it hurts our ears.

Otherwise great wine. Enjoy your tastings.
