When my great grandparents moved here from Italy, Nonno said no more Italian. They had to learn English and become American. I respect and understand his sentiment, but I do wish he hadn’t forbade speaking Italian. I may have otherwise learned it and that could’ve helped me learn Spanish also

My grandmother from Lago put a shot of Seagram 7 in her coffee and poured it over her corn flakes. It was good for her arthritis.
