🇫🇷 Origin & History
Although croissants are strongly associated with France, their roots trace back to the Austrian pastry called kipferl. In the 19th century, Austrian bakers introduced the pastry to France, where French bakers refined it using laminated dough and butter, creating the flaky croissant we know today.
Over time, the croissant became a symbol of French bakery culture and is now enjoyed worldwide.
